Dennie Mixon

Im excited to step in as the new director for the Modesto Youth Basketball League and continue the great program started by Eli Bynum. I am also the owner/trainer for Allouttraining and also the coach for the Thomas Downey girls JV and Varsity basketball program. I am passionate about coaching and training and the game of basketball and I look forward to having the ability to share my knowledge and help develop the youth in my city to the best of my abilities. 




Mitch Evans

Mitch Evans is entering his fourth season as Varsity coach of Thomas Downey High School. The Knights finished their 2023 season with a record of 23 wins and 6 losses and qualified to back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2003, including a 10-0 league record and the first league title since 2008. Coach Evans is passionate about the game of basketball and brings a lot of knowledge to our programs. 




Lloyd French

Lloyd French graduated class of 2023 from Thomas Downey High School where he played varsity basketball for 3 years.  Lloyd is committed to Stanislaus State University in Turlock. He is a two time First team All league player who was also the 2023 CCAL MVP. He was also 2023 CCAL League champion who was averaging 25pts 10rbs 4stls and 4ast. Lloyd’s dedication and work ethic to the game of basketball is extraordinary and he makes a great role model for future basketball athletes. 




Malachi Miller

Malachi Miller graduated the class of 2023 from Central Catholic. He will be attending the University of Redlands. He was League MVP, First team all league 2x, First team all district 2x, MaxPreps honorable mention, San Joaquin section finalist, and had a 1000 point career. He attends Modesto gospel mission and has overcome many obstacles but his dedication, hardwork and talent makes him a great role model for future basketball players.
