We are a co-ed youth basketball league that encourages fundamentals, sportsmanship and fun. The league begins January 11, 2025 and goes for 6 weeks ending February 15, 2025. There are no practices for this league, only games on Saturdays. This is a great league for kids learning the game and wanting to enjoy the game of basketball. All the kids are coached by the Boys and Girls high school basketball players at Downey High school as well as the head coaches for both programs. All kids get equal playing time and we do not keep score of the games at the lower levels. Each child who registers will get a jersey a week before the league begins. The league has been restructured this year to be more like a basketball league. The older levels will be more competitive and will follow basketball rules (free throws & fouls, etc.). The goal this year is to teach the game of basketball where each child will continue to develop and be ready to play for school basketball teams and travel basketball teams when they are ready while also having as much as possible. We are also offering weekend clinics leading up to the camp to help get your child ready for the league. Registration for the clinics will also be posted on our website when they become available.
